Catch Every Action from the Byte Busters Showcase Event
When we started the Byte Busters Coding Club, we had one dream — to make technology accessible to every child. On the 24th of October, that dream came alive.
Byte Busters Showcase was more than an event, it was a celebration of young talent, hard work, and the future of technology in Southwest Nigeria.

The event began with a powerful opening from Otunba Bimbo Ashiru (Group Chairman, OICL), represented by WEMABOD Ltd. Chairman, Engr Nureni Oladipo Adisa. He reflected on how this initiative carries forward the legacy of our founders, transforming human capital for the 21st century. He challenged our students: “Do not just use technology, build it. Do not just play games, design them. Do not just browse the web, create it.”

Mr. Yemi Ajao, GCIBDO Odu’a Investment Company Ltd representing Mr. Abdulrahman Yinusa, GMD Odu’a Investment Company Ltd, followed with a strong reminder about the importance of digital literacy — a core part of our mission under the DEFINED Project.

The showcase itself was electric. Nine Byte Busters centres presented their best work — from Yewa College, Ilaro’s “Campus Guide” to St. Bernadine's Girls Grammar School's "who wants to be a millionaire" in Yoruba Language and many more amazing projects.
Our guests didn’t just watch: they engaged by playing games, chatting with chatbots, and probing how these young people built what they built.
Ambassador Dr. Olatokunbo Awolowo-Dosumu (Chair, Advisory Board) shared her pride in this movement. She praised everyone driving the DEFINED Project and celebrated how far we’ve come in just two years.

Prof. Seun Kolade (Project Director) reiterated that digital transformation is not an optional trend, it is central to social and economic life. His ambition, he said, is bold: reach all 137 local governments in the Southwest through this work.
At the awards, every centre was honoured — but a few stood out:
Most Supportive State: Ogun State
3rd Place: School of Science, Ile-Ife (Osun) — for their AI Live Object Labeler.
2nd Place: St. Bernadines Girls Grammar School, Oyo — they created a replica of the famous reality TV show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” in Yoruba Language—Tálọ́ fẹ́ di Olówó Mílíọ̀nù.
1st Place: Government College, Ibadan — with a currency converter, Byte Busters Computer Based Test (CBT), and scratch-based game.
We ended the day with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the Ag. Executive Secretary of Odu’a Investment Foundation, Mrs Abiola Ajayi.

This showcase reminds us that when opportunity meets passion, young people can build the future and not just dream it.
Thank you to every student, mentor, judge, partner, and supporter. This is just the beginning.
